Here we have a superb Pyrite specimen from the old-time Antenna Mine of Rio Marina on the island of Elba. This exceptional piece can easily compete with the fine stuff of Huanzala Mine in terms of luster, colour and form. The Isle of Elba, in addition to being famous for Tourmalines and Napoleon´s exile, has also produced what are consistently outstanding Pyrite specimens. This cluster has beautiful striated pyritohedrons up to 3,3 cm, and the metallic luster is excellent. While not the largest Elba Pyrite I have seen, I really do like the balance and aesthetics of this piece. For the size, it is hard to imagine a better example with such flair and perfection all around. Comes with a fine old label.
