Here we have one of the most desired Swiss combos,- pink Fluorite on Quartz from the Göscheneralp of Uri Canton. This locality is noted for classic pink Fluorite on Quartz, just as you see here. Several octahedral crystals of pink, translucent Fluorite, to 1.1 cm across are aesthetically perched on colourless, gemmy, lustrous, crystals of Quartz. From this locality (or several in the immediate area), the Quartz is sometimes colourless and not smoky as you often see from elsewhere in Switzerland. With the pink on the white, it makes for a whole different contrast than the usual pink-on-smoky situation. Very nice thumbnail specimen with great overall aesthetics.
