This is a superlarge single crystal of Almandine garnet,- and it comes NOT FROM AUSTRIA,- the source is Buviknakken of Buvika, Sørfold in Nordland, Norway. The crystal here is well developed, sharp edged and highly lustrous. Only minor edge wear and considering the size of the crystal nearly unworth to report. This Norwegian whopper measures enormous 7,7 cm across. So hard to come by such rare material. Seldom seen on mineral shows in this size.
