Description

A fine and colourful specimen of yolk yellow-coloured Mimetite accompanied by creamy multifaced Calcite. This is a rich and lustrous piece from the classic Mexican locality Potosí Mine of the Santa Eulalia District. It is totaly differnet to the Mimetite style of the more common finds at Ojuela Mine in Durango. Mimetites from Mexico came out over the years in all sorts of shades (including the GREEN ones). The best-known ones are bright yellow. This is an unusual but also well known colour, rich and pretty; and notably more crystallized in wheat-sheave bundles than the typical Ojuela material which is more common on the market. These are old classics, mostly from the 1970s or early 1980s. A colourful and almost pristine specimen with only minor imperfection,- and comes with a high quality, fitting acrylic base.
